Paulina's due date is this Friday. The doctor says if the baby isn't out next week, they might try some procedures to speed things up. We hope everything goes smoothly.
I was a bit hesitant to go to work this morning because Paulina started to have contractions more frequently. She has been having contractions for the past two months but they are scattered and not as intense. The doctor told us there are three ways to get admitted to the hospital for active labor. 1) Water breaks, 2) Bleeding, 3) Dilation of more than 3cm with contractions every 5 minutes nonstop.
So far no water breakage and no bleeding. Yesterday, the doctor said she is about 2.5-3cm dilated but her contractions are only about 15-20 minutes apart. Last night she told me that her contractions seem to be 5-10 minutes apart and getting more intense. She is still able to walk around and talk normally so she told me to just go to work. It only takes 15 minutes to get home so it shouldn't be a problem since labor takes hours and sometimes days.
So now I am at work wondering if today is going to be the big day. Very nervous. How do I concentrate on my work? Just sitting in my cubicle somewhat dazed and distracted with the thought of rushing home to take my wife to the hospital.
I'll let you know when the baby is out.
