Family Picture at Eight Months

You officially turn eight months in four days. Wow, the time has really flew by. From mommy getting pregnant to you coming out of her tummy to now crawling and talking. You grow up so fast and it seems like you are doing something new almost everyday. Mommy is even more nervous about going back to work and placing you in daycare. We hope you like it there.

First Kiss to Kyra

Oh Lucas, why are you so impolite? Anything you see, you try to get a taste. Toys are okay but people are not. Kyra is such a sweet baby, you need to be gentle especially with girls.

Potty Training

We haven't been very successful with training you. One of our biggest obstacle is bottle feeding, you just don't like it and fight very hard against it for some reason. Knowing how stubborn you can get we decided to start early and put you on the potty. We would sit you on the potty for around 15-30 minutes while reading a book or singing a song to you. We massage your tummy and make ugh-ugh sounds to help. Sometimes you poo poo but most times it's just pee pee. Since it is still winter, we turn on the space heater and prepare the bath so you get nice warm water afterwards. Mommy and daddy loves you so much. This time is really treasured even if it means sitting on the bathroom floor, getting your pee and poo on our clothes, and cleaning any spills that get outside of the potty.

From crawling to standing

Lucas,

Mom reminded me that this blog is a letter to you before you can read. Right now, we talk to you and you respond with BA BA! or DA DA! along with an occasional screech or grunt. Sometimes this includes patting our hands or faces. This month you gave us many surprises that bring us great joy and excitement. You have been crawling for a few weeks and now you can pull yourself up to stand. You should see your face when you finally stand up, so proud and beaming with satisfaction of your new accomplishment.

Diaper changes have become very dangerous when you can flip around in a blink of eye and your turbo kicks give us bruises. It is almost like you are a born wrestler fighting hard not to get pinned down. Mommy is almost about to go back to work and is very nervous about leaving you for long periods of time. She worries and worries but you haven't even left yet. I guess it'll be a lifetime of worries.
